Audi FIS World Cup hosted by Palisades Tahoe

At the heart of the Vendor Village of Audi FIS World Cup, one of the most highly anticipated events in the skiing world, SkyTechSport booth attracted excited snow sports fans who were eager to experience real skiing on virtual slopes. SkyTechSport Lux simulator and BotBoxer, the robot for martial arts, enhanced the thrilling and memorable experience for skiing enthusiasts from around the world.
The decision to host it at Palisades Tahoe in 2023 was a testament to the resort's reputation as a world-class skiing destination. This world-renowned ski resort located in California, USA, became host to men’s slalom and giant slalom events that took place on Dog Leg and Red Dog Face. The racetracks were previously used in 2017 for women’s slalom and giant slalom World Cup races. Mikaela Shiffrin won both events and later described the venue as “one of, if not the toughest,” courses on the women’s World Cup circuit.
This resort also played host to the 1969 World Cup and 1960 Winter Olympics. It was one of only four U.S. resorts featured on the World Cup circuit this year. Did you know seven Team Palisades Tahoe athletes are on the U.S. Alpine Ski Team?
This was be the first time that Palisades Tahoe hosted the event, which drew large crowds and generated huge interest from skiing fans around the world. With athletes from over 30 countries competing for the coveted World Cup titles, we were thrilled to see the three formidable winners on the podium: Marco Schwarz (Austria), who took first by a mere 0.03 seconds, the heavy favourite and World Champion Marco Odermatt (Switzerland) and Rasmus Windingstad, the fastest member of the Norwegian team.
